Full Stack Web Developer/Software Engineer II - Lowell

NetNumber, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Full Stack Web Developer/Software Engineer located in the Greater Lowell, MA area. The Full Stack Web Developer/Software Engineer is a hands-on position that requires a candidate who is comfortable in a fast paced, focused, agile software engineering environment. Responsibilities will include working with a team of engineers to design the Web administrative console for the NetNumber Next Generation Telecommunications Addressing and Numbering products.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and develop the toolkit of java components used to build administrative console
  • Design the standards and best practices for the use of the toolkit
  • Design and implement the look and feel of the administrative console
  • Work with developers to identify, design and implement new capabilities
  • Implement core administrative model using the toolkit
  • Design UI related APIs for embedded applications
  • Implement branding support as needed

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
BSCS/MSCS in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent experience validating and benchmarking complex IP network applications

The successful candidate must have:

  • 3+ years of Web/Java development experience
  • Excellent working knowledge of Java including a strong understanding of object oriented design.
  • Excellent working knowledge of HTML/HTML5
  • Excellent working knowledge of JavaScript
  • Excellent working knowledge of Cascading Style Sheets (CSS)
  • Strong verbal and written skills

Senior Software Performance Engineer - Lowell

NetNumber, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Senior Software Performance Engineer, located in the Greater Lowell, MA area.
The Senior Software Performance Engineer is a hands-on position that requires a candidate who is comfortable in a fast paced, focused, agile software engineering environment. Responsibilities will include working with a team of engineers to validate high speed, carrier grade IP and SS7 network based applications for the NetNumber Next Generation Telecommunications Addressing and Numbering products.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performance design, analysis and tuning for NetNumber LTE, IMS and SS7 applications on Linux. 
  • Write custom performance client tools and performance analysis tools
  • Write software to automate performance tests
  • Execute and evaluate tests on carrier grade servers and in a virtual environment
  • Work with internal groups to research, analyze and tune applications for optimal performance
  • Drive consensus on the evaluation, selection, and adoption of appropriate performance toolset
  • Report test results internally to Research and Development and write white paper benchmark reports for internal groups, customers, and partners

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
BSCS/MSCS in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent experience validating and benchmarking complex IP network applications

The successful candidate must have:

  • 5+ years of Software Test or SQA experience with an emphasis in performance, load, capacity, and scale testing
  • Direct working experience with performance testing and analysis of network-based applications that are designed to run on Linux
  • Knowledge with Linux System Administration and Linux kernel
  • Knowledge with Linux Performance Observability Tools (e.g., uptime, dmesg, vmstat, mpstat, pidstat, iostat, free, top, sar, strace, tcpdump, perf)
  • Knowledge with building out carrier grade servers

  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills

Field Engineer - Lowell

NetNumber, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Field Engineer at NetNumber’s headquarters in Lowell, MA. This is a hands-on Position that requires a candidate who is comfortable working for a fast-paced, focused, small sized company directly with NetNumber’s customers. The chosen candidate will be responsible for installing, integration and testing NetNumber products (DNS/ENUM, NP, SRP, CRE, STP, HSS/HLR etc.) on customer’s premises. The role will require international travel, when possible activates will be done remotely.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Preparing installations and upgrades which includes writing upgrade procedures and test plans
  • Installing software on customer systems
  • Working with the customer technical staff to integrate the systems into the customer network and support the customer’s testing
  • Running the designated acceptance testing with the customer to verify that the product is working as specified
  • Communicating with customers to establish details of problems/requirements
  • Working with other teams in NetNumber to resolve technical problems
  • Producing system documentation for the customer and NetNumber’s support teams
  • Updating the call tracking system, providing status updates and action plans, providing customer resolution reports for issues
  • Participating in the out of hours on call support rota when required

REQUIREMENTS:

  • BS or Engineering degree with a focus in Information Technology / Telecommunications

Software Engineer II - Lowell

NetNumber, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Software Engineer II in Lowell, MA. This is a hands-on position that requires a candidate who is comfortable working in a fast-paced, focused and agile development environment.

DESCRIPTION:

The chosen candidate for the Senior Engineer will be an integral team member who will be responsible for designing, implementing, testing and supporting facilities and applications of NetNumber’s TITAN platform. A strong technical background with solid knowledge of Linux, Java and Object-Oriented Programming principles is required. This role requires close collaboration with a team of engineers to to design, implement and support high speed, carrier grade IP and SS7 network based applications for NetNumber’s Next Generation Telecommunications Addressing and Numbering products.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Reviews complete project documents for conformity and quality assurance
  • Develops new techniques and/or improved processes, software tools and products
  • Assists upper level management and staff as a technical specialist or adviser
  • Assists in mentoring other members of engineering staff

Support Engineer - Netherlands

NetNumber, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Technical Assistance Center Engineer, located in the Netherlands. This is a hands-on position that requires a candidate who is comfortable working for a fast-paced, focused, small sized company and directly with NetNumber’s customers. The chosen candidate will be an integral team member, helping provide post deployment technical support of NetNumber’s TITAN Centralized Signaling & Routing Control (CSRC) platform and associated applications (DNS/ENUM, NP, CRE, STP, SRP, HSS/HLR, etc.).

The Support Engineer position may require an initial training program from 1- to 2-month stay in the greater Boston, MA, USA area at NetNumber corporate headquarters.  While in Boston, the candidate will learn about the TITAN application, how it is used and deployed within a telecommunications network, as well as NetNumber as an organization.  Once trained, it is expected the Support Engineer position will operate from a NetNumber’s Netherlands office.  Office location is still being finalized, but most likely in Den Haag, Utrecht or Amsterdam.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide 1st and 2nd level technical support and assistance to NetNumber’s partners & customers
  • Provide 24×7 support coverage by participating in the on call rotation
  • Enter, track and manage all incoming support issues / questions, act as a SPOC for key accounts
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues/questions regarding NetNumber’s TITAN application within agreed SLA
  • Understand all technical aspects of the TITAN CSRC platform and associated applications
  • Reproduce issues in the NetNumber lab environment
  • Interface with NetNumber’s Development team to provide user feedback, helping to improve product service, design and quality
  • Work with customers & management to ensure that contractual SLA’s are exceeded
  • Perform other duties as requested or as deemed appropriate
  • Onsite Field engineer activities will be required on occasion to assist with product knowledge

REQUIREMENTS:

  • BS or Engineering degree with a focus in Information Technology / Telecommunications
